I go to bed at around 10:00 pm (which is considered early for some), and I've been rising naturally, with no alarm clock, at 4:30 am.  My husband and I head to the gym at around 7:30 am.  The time between the time I rise and the time we go to the gym is excellent for working on my fanfic because when we're done exercising and having breakfast, it's time for me to work. (I'm paid to be a ghostwriter.)
 
I've posted chapter 3 of my BLAZE series, Book 1.  I post a new chapter on the weekends, either Saturday or Sunday.

Last week I started going to bed earlier for what's MY version of earlier: between midnight and 1:00 AM instead of between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM. No matter what time I go to bed I still wake up without an alarm between about 8:00 and about 8:30 AM, so I was really getting short sleep when I stayed up until 3:00 or 4:00. I definitely feel better with getting more sleep, but for me it HAS cut into my writing time.
