We'll see how long I last with my renewed interest in the fic world.  I'm not connecting with people here at Dreamwidth. So, why bother? (I don't get much out of online one-way streets.)

I also want to write a health blog and a health book.  So I may be putting all my focus there, which has nothing to do with stuff here.

We'll see . . .

At my age, I don't stay long with things that don't make me happy. Life is too short for that.

I go to bed at around 10:00 pm (which is considered early for some), and I've been rising naturally, with no alarm clock, at 4:30 am.  My husband and I head to the gym at around 7:30 am.  The time between the time I rise and the time we go to the gym is excellent for working on my fanfic because when we're done exercising and having breakfast, it's time for me to work. (I'm paid to be a ghostwriter.)

I've posted chapter 3 of my BLAZE series, Book 1.  I post a new chapter on the weekends, either Saturday or Sunday.

I'm asking those who love the outdoors to post a picture on your page. A picture that YOU took. Just a pic. No description. The goal is to regain peace and harmony without negativity. Please copy the text, put a picture on YOUR page, and let's look at these beautiful pictures.

High above the clouds in a plane . . .

Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow

My good friend [personal profile] ride_4ever is a librarian. So she could relate to me here.

I'm so happy to have a library card again, this time from the Lee County Library System. (I moved to Fort Myers, Florida, from Chicago, Illinois.) I'm also happy to have dove into e-books.

We all started reading physical books, and I used to tell myself that those were the only books I wanted to read. (I remember when Ride and I would go to the now defunct Borders book store. We'd find books we wanted to read, and we'd grab something to eat and drink. Then we'd sit at a table reading the books and eating and drinking.)

Well, Borders is gone, and my days of only reading physical books are gone. E-books not only save trees, but they save space in my home.

When I moved from Chicago, I left hundreds of books behind. My home in Fort Myers can only hold a certain number of them. I don't have books stacked up against the wall or in the corners or stored in the basement. (We don't have basements in Fort Myers.) The physical books I brought with me in the move are on bookshelves, and those bookshelves are FULL.

Today, many libraries, including mine, allow you to borrow books by downloading them onto your device. At my library, we can download 20 books at a time, and we have 14 days to read each book. (You can also borrow the same book again, I believe, if you run out of time.) I find that many more popular ones have waiting lists, but that's fine. I get myself on the lists and wait my turn.

Downloading books from the library also saves me money. I read a lot of books. So if I were to buy books, I'd be spending a lot every month.

I don't need to own the books I borrow. I just want to read them. Furthermore, books that I want to own (such as the classics) I own already. And if there's a book in the future that I HAVE to own, I'll buy it—no big deal.

Currently, I'm reading CATCH AND KILL by Ronan Farrow, THE 5 SECOND RULE by Mel Robbins, PARENTS WHO KILL by Carol Anne Davis, and MAKE YOUR BED by Admiral William H. McRaven.

I FINALLY started my fic writing. So far, I've got two chapters of my Book 1 up with many, many, many more chapters and books to come. (I post on either Saturdays or Sundays.) My series is the BLAZE series based on MCU and focuses on Natasha Romanoff. Please check it out, and please leave kudos (if you're inspired) and comments (if you're inspired)! Thanks!
I thought I'd check-in during this COVID-19 mess.

Chicago's Shelter-In-Place order doesn't affect me much concerning being at home.  I'm already a full-time freelance writer.  So I'm used to working from home.

Going out into the public is something I try to avoid as much as possible, however.  If I have to go to the post office or the grocery store, I wear plastic gloves, and I make sure to stand six feet away from people while standing in line.  (Everyone in my neighborhood has been good about that.)  I carry hand sanitizer in my purse. I also carry alcohol wipes with me and wipe down whatever I need to wipe down.

I don't like being out right now.  It makes me anxious, and all I want to do is hurry back to my safe home.  That doesn't mean I'm sitting around and not exercising or moving, however.  I workout about one and a half hours a day, five days a week.  I pole dance, strength train, do cardio on our Bowflex and stretch. Today it's warm and sunny in Chicago.  So I'll be sure to sit outside on the deck in my backyard.  I'm away from people.  So I'm cool with that.

As far as writing, aside from my paid ghostwriting, I'm working on my first fanfic.  I'll be writing 10,000-word stories with Natasha Romanoff as my main character.  I'm currently working on story one, based on the Iron Man 2 Marvel movie and comic strips.  Iron Man 2 is where Natasha first appears in the Marvel movies.  I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I'm also getting caught up on my Marvel movie reviews. Only ten more to go.  Once I'm done with the current Marvel movies, I look forward to watching Black Widow.  Marvel pushed the release date to November 6, 2020, due to COVID-19.

I enjoy cooking for my husband and me, reading, and watching comedies and dramas on TV with my husband. I'm a huge true-crime fan.  I'm currently reading Della's Web: The Many Husbands of a Suburban Black Widow by Aphrodite Jones.

Despite the times we're in, I'm happy, healthy and blessed. Stay safe and healthy out there!  Wash your hands; don't touch your face, and practice social distancing!

Well, it's been about seven months since I've written something here. It's unfortunate, but, at my age, I've learned to go with the flow.  I'm a happy person these days because I no longer "fight" life.

Other things have come up in my life.  My political views are changing; I quit writing pro-fiction; I spent my summer at my husband and my summer home in Canada, and now I'm back.

I'm hoping to attend Escapade again, but I'm not going unless my best friend goes. She has a loved one who is ill. Her loved one is her first concern, as it should be. But, thankfully, he's on the mend. So we'll see how it goes. Family comes first for her, and it comes first for me too. But, for now, I'll start back with my movie reviews. I miss writing those.

I've been super busy these last few weeks and have neglected my FanFic life.   I have articles to write, pole dancing to practice (mainly because I have a performance in July), and I have my ProFic stuff.  Time to get back into it.  I want it to be a part of my life, and I want to make the time for it. Baby steps.  I'm not at all into stressing myself out.  I stopped doing that years ago.
