Director: The Russo Brothers

The superhero movie "Captain America: Civil War" is the 13th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

My 30 Second No Spoilers Intro

It's 1991 and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, played by Sebastian Stan, under the influence of Hydra's brainwashing technique, commits a horrible crime to retrieve a super-soldier serum. Fast forward to the present day, in Lagos, Nigeria, and the Avengers are on a mission, except a horrible consequence results.  Are the Avengers heroes or are they "dangerous" as the Secretary of State implies? The government concludes the latter, and the United Nations attempts to gain control of the Avengers through the Sokovia Accords. Tony Stark/Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., is on board, as well as other Avengers. However, Steve Rogers/Captain America, played by Chris Evans, is not. As Peggy Carter, one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D., once said, "Compromise where you can. Where you can't, don't." Along the way, something horrible happens to the King of Wakanda. When his son T'Challa/Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, learns who did it, he vows revenge. Serious situations develop, including a "civil war" within the Avengers.  Can the civil war lead to peace?

Who Was Good, and Who Wasn't?

Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. are always exceptional actors.

What I Liked, and What I Didn't Like

What I liked:  Scarlett Johansson/Natasha Romanoff possesses fighting skills that are always fun for me to watch.

What I liked: When Steve Rogers, with his strong, muscular arms, stops the helicopter Bucky is flying.

What I liked: There's a flashback scene to Tony Stark's teenage years.  Marvel does a great job of making Robert Downey Jr. look young.

What I liked: Captain American's approach to the theme of "Civil War." He's my favorite Marvel character.

What I liked: When Natasha says to Tony, "Are you incapable of letting go of your ego for one god-damn second?" (Tony has always been my least favorite Marvel character.)

What I liked: "Civil War" has an excellent story-line.  I truly enjoyed this movie.

Who Will Like This Movie?

"Captain America: Civil War" is a perfect movie for people who not only love superhero movies but who also love a great story-line.  This is a movie you may want to watch twice!

Rating?

I give "Captain America: Civil War " 5 stars. It's one of my favorites!
